That is not what a buddy does, a buddy should be more than just someone to
join in on rec.boats personal insults. Let's try to stay focused on
discussing issues and not personal insults.

Since when has wrecked.boats not been insulting?
(Wondering where Skipper is .... should be back from his "cruise" by now).

I guess it will never change.

Try being more open about your boat and boating experiences and maybe,
just maybe folks will consider your advice. Until then accept the
consequences of your decision to remain totally anonymous to this NG,
both in name and experience, none of which have resulting in insulting
or name calling.

BTW: You previously stated that *all* Volvo Penta engines need a 160F
and you were promptly proved wrong. Your credibility remains at 0%

Just the facts...........Jack!

JimH,
I was wrong on that matter, but on the 4.3 and the 5.7, a very large
segment and the engine we were talking about, I was correct. Since
everyone knows so much about your personal life, including your name,
address and phone number, and all of your personal problems your
credibility must be at an all time high.

But that is not important. The important thing is we are discussing a
boating issue that effects the majority of boaters who read rec.boats.

As I said, I really was not directing my comments towards you, but
someone who might want to learn from your mistakes. This year you have
provided many newbies an excellent opportunity to learn a lot, more than
anyone else in rec.boats. Some of the lessons you have provided a

1. Don't rely on using the water temp. to determine if it is safe to
use the impeller for another year. You should never go more than 2
years w/o changing the impeller. If you buy a new boat, change the
impeller immediately.
2. Don't use mechanics who think this is an acceptable procedure to
check the impeller.
3. Don't use mechanics who use the parts they have in stock instead of
ordering the parts that are spec'd.
4. When your water temperature is changing 20-25 degrees and you have a
fresh water cooled system, it is not prudent to wait till the end of the
season to find a good mechanic to check out the problem.
5. Rec. Boats can be a good place to get opinions and ideas, but it
should not be the place to finalize any important decisions. Incorrect
information is giving in UseNet all the time, sometimes, by the most
knowledgeable people. Use the mfg'er web site to verify all info provided.
6. Ignoring minor problems can result in very expensive mistakes.

Even those who previously owned 32' boats, can learn something new.
