Default Here ya go, Joe...

If kids are at risk for heat stroke for wearing a safety device then
don't
take them sailing. You always have the option of leaving them home. Or
below
deck.

Utter nonsense. Taking even a short cruise means weather presents
certain risks ALWAYS. A wise parent doesn't mindlessly follow rules
that could prove to be dangerous in certain situations. You are not
only not a boater, but clearly not an educated parent.

You are a monster for putting your kid at risk.

YOU are the monster for suggesting a child should be put at risk for
heat stroke and even death by wearing a lifejacket at times when it's
not needed. A wise parent looks at ALL the conditions and makes a
judgement. Your advice is both robotic and mindless.

If anything did happen would you be able to live with the guilt?

Anytime you step into a car, boat or even outside your door there is a
risk...and few as great as putting a child in car. Unlike you Thomas
will grow up to be a man. We'll protect him as we see fit, not based on
some mantra chanted by followers. Bob, me thinks it's a good thing you
never procreated.

Don't force the kid into dangerous situations. Leave him ashore.

Yep, I know a few people like you. They have no problem putting their
children into a car and yet wonder if Thomas is in serious danger
aboard a sailboat. What awful cowards such as Bob exist in our
time...and they only wish to make more cowards of the youth around
them. In it's own way it's an inate jealousy, though not one that I can
understand.

The worst kind of coward is the type who wants everyone to share his
fears. I'm glad Thomas is not exposed to anyone like you.
Even for a troll, your post exposes a lot about you...and I'm surprised
you made such a post.
