First the episode with the ignition switch on my son's car...$650
Next the boat engine overheats and who knows what that will cost.
My wife calls me downstairs at about 9:30 this morning to find our
basement flooded. The sump pump died and we had torrential rain
all night. Our basement is finished and all the carpeting and
baseboards are lost, perhaps even the lower course of drywall.
Well I just got done installing a new 3/4 hp 4,800 gph unit and I
have to wait to let it do it's job. More rain is on the way.
What a wonderful holiday weekend. What a great vacation.
What's next Lord? Come on......what's next!!
Sorry to hear about your problems. One of the big problems with
wet wallboard not being replaced is mold and long term health
problems for all who live in the home.
As far as the slew of troubles, I am a big believer in Karma, maybe
you need to look within for the solution.
Karma can be a bitch. Hope *all* works out with him.

Kick him a few more times when he's down....I believe he's still
twitching.
Unbelievable that some folks get some sort of twisted pleasure hearing
of other folks problems. Instead of offering a word of hope they kick
you in the balls with a smile on their face.
Karma? My ass.
Look within yourself Reggie for some compassion and understanding.
Then go take a flying leap and screw yourself. I don't need that type
of crap from you, especially today and especially after all the crap I
just went through.
Anyway.......
Looks like the emergency work.........water extraction, carpet tear
out and floor cleanup/disinfectant job........will run around $5,000
alone seeing it happened on a holiday. Then we have to replace the
carpet and trim....probably another $2,500.
Add to that the cost of the boat engine repair staring at
me.........while having 2 kids in college.
I bet that makes Reggie really happy.
JimH,
Try to go back and read my post again. I started off by saying
"Sorry to hear about your problems."
I then added some recommendations from insurance companies and their
recommendations about mold after water damage and that you may need to
replace your wallboard. This is someone who is going beyond just lip
service, but is concerned about you and your family's long term safety.
Black Mold can kill or cause severe health problems.
I then made a comment about my persona belief about Karma. I was
showing you compassion and understanding from my perspective. I do
believe in Karma, and I do try to look inward when everything in my
world seems to be going crazy. I would make that same suggestion to any
one in my family who was had a similar rash of "accidents". Reread my
comments and then read your response to my comment and ask yourself, is
it possible that Karma may impact our life..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karma
You have had an extremely long rash of problems. I would think you
would want to at least think about a concept that billions of people
strongly believe in.
If not, it is no big deal.
I took it to mean than you & JohnH felt Jim deserved his misfortune
because of his real or perceived past actions.
If that's not what you meant..this twisted sailor withdraws his comment.
