If that were his lone medal you might have a point. The Purple Heart
was the least of them...

I believe he was also awarded a medal for chasing an individual who had fired an
RPG around a hootch and shooting him. As an unloaded RPG launcher is about as
effective a weapon as a baseball bat, I wouldn't consider this act very heroic.
It seems much more like taking a life needlessly.
