It's a 1999 article involving FICHT and the sequence of what happened
and how - it's a fair and balanced straight forward evaluation and
reporting of what actually happened with FICHT rather than the screed
by SHE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED.

For the record, if I had to do it over again, I would still own
FICHTS.

Also for the record, I own ETECs.

Interesting article Tom, and also a bit sad. Interesting in the sense of
the technical problems of some of the early Ficht's and how OMC's less than
thorough testing program let the problem slip through the cracks, thereby
making beta testers out of those early owners. Also interesting how OMC
eventually took the problem quite seriously and owned up to it in a stand-up
way, at a time when it was financially difficult for them to do so.

But sad in the sense of reading an article about an old friend that was
written when he was alive and vital, but has since passed on. I believe it
was a sad day for the marine industry when OMC closed its doors. Lots of
history there.
