Here in S. Illinois, it's going to get hot this weekend,, probably in
the high 90's tomorrow, and will start to settle in our normal summer
scorching. No rain in sight for about a week or so. Sat. it's time for
the lake!

Notice how often all this rain misses the DC area? I'd love to have
some of
and save some bucks on my lawn watering bill!

Dig a well.
At about $150 per quarter, how long would it take me to break even?

Depends on how deep they have to drill. We put a well in a few years ago
because the sprinkler costs were getting ridiculous. (They are installed
in both the lawn and horse paddock areas). The well drilling guy told me
they try to get a well to produce at least 12 gals/min. They had to go
down 512 feet for ours and finally hit paydirt ... or paywater and got
over 20 gals/min. He said they hit an aquifer and we now had an artesian
well that tests purer than the town supplied water.
It paid for itself in about 2-3 years in our case.

I might have to water the lawn two or three times in an average
summer...certainly not in the spring.
We do not normally run our sprinkler system till sometime in June. We
actually just started to run it this week because of the lack of rain.
Have you put the boat on the new trailer yet?
No..rained heavy all day. Should get it on tomorrow or Saturday am. (if
my son can find time in his busy schedule to help) I have a possible
buyer for the old 1986 Easy Hauler roller trailer late Sat afternoon.
