Great all around boats but "good weather only" offshore, IMO.

I'm in the market for a new (or used) boat. I want to fish for striped
bass on Lake Buchanan north of Austin and fish Matagorda Bay for trout
& redfish. I also would like to go offshore when the weather is right.
I would like to have an aluminum trailer, and be able to fit the boat
in my garage. This means I'm looking for something in the 17-21'
range. Any suggestions?
Take a look at the SeaPro SV2100CC. I bought a 2005 and love it. I
fish East Matagorda primarily and can go pretty shallow but still have
capability of going offshore under decent conditions. I equipped it
with a trolling motor, hyd. jack plate and trim tabs so I can get up
in about 2 feet of water easily. I followed a Shoalwater around POC a
couple of weeks ago and had no problem running where he ran and
getting up on plane when he did but we were a lot more comfortable and
drier. I don't think I've ever been more all around satisfied with a
boat.
The "Bay Boat" category looks pretty nice. Bass and Walleye Boats
actually has some articles about them.
