Default New Rudder Ready to Rock

What you think Doug, Ol Thom?

A buddie at NASA used a 5 axis CNC machine to mill it for me out of a
block of carbon fiber ;0).

Perfect fit and he says it should be slicker than the tail wing on the
Blackbird spy plane.

I will have to make sure to have the keel board down all the way in
shallow areas to make sure I dont rip off the transom. Thanks for the
tips.

Excellent Joe. That very definitely looks wwayyy cool. Of
course, it could be just a bit stronger & lighter if it was
loadpath-oriented graphite skins over a honeycomb core....
didn't your friend tell you that
Maybe he didn't have any of that stuff handy.

It certainly is lighter & stronger & simpler & cheaper
without the kick-up feature... but if you sail off a beach
very often, the kick-up is very handy.

Did you use the Eppler section? The parallel lead/trail edge
& round tip profile is kinda retro but still makes an
efficient foil.

Off to bend on the new sails.

Another good call. Did you get full battens? Please show
more pics, get your lady to take some action shots as you
plane by!
