Default So apparently, gas isn't an issue to boaters..

So, the environmentalists are right! The high price of gas IS a good
thing.

(Just kidding ... but I was almost knocked off the boat while we were
putting up the rigging when a jet ski zoomed by obviously piloted by
someone who couldn't read the "No Wake. 5 KPH" sign he had just flown past)

I hate that stuff when I see fellow pwc'ers or any other fellow
powerboaters do it. Hopefully that person had his incorrect behavior
pointed out to him by a sympathetic soul. I would have done stuff like
that on my first season out on a jetski, back about a decade ago, I
didn't know anything at first about boating and proper behavior on the
water, but the more experienced guys I was riding with set me straight
pretty quickly and I learned about no-wake zones (also from getting a
ticket or two), wide berths, slowing down around other boaters,
fishermen, marinas, etc; and in the eight years since, well obviously
I've known what to do. That's another reason why I'm very glad that
New York State and others now require basic boating safety education in
order to legally ride a pwc now (they didn't back then) and think the
same should apply to all power boaters.

And of course, the price of gas isn't an issue for sailors. We may
spend $60 on gas this summer instead of $30 like last summer.
