Default 4.3 Mercruiser

ups.com...
I just bought a 18' Bryant BB180. The engine is a 4.3 mercruiser, the
boat is in perfect condition and it runs awesome. Once I take off and
get up on plane and get the trim up, my oil pressure wants to run low.
A mechanic told me that the motor is sucking up all the oil, and not
leaving any in the oil pan, resulting with low oil pressure. If you
have any idea on how to fix my problem, please respond or send me an
email. Thanks alot.

How low is low? How old is the engine?
It is quite normal for the oil pressure to drop when the engine is at normal
operating temperature as compared to when it is cold. Particularly true
with older engines with a few hundred hours on them.

Generally, 10 psi per thousand RPM is fine.

If you are saying that your oil pressure drops with RPM when hot, then
that's a different matter.

I bought the boat from my girlfriends dad, so I know quite a bit of info on it. It probably has about 200 hrs of running time. Once on plane, you can play with the trim to get the oil pressure right. I think it runs between 5 and 10 with the trim almost all the way up. It has good to high oil pressure when at idle and in the no wake zone. I always have to back the throttle off to keep the rpms down also.
