It's hilarious to watch lefties go apoplectic and scream about
"censorship"
of their precious "progressive" artists. The reason why it's always a
leftie involved in these incidents is that RECORD COMPANIES, HOLLYWOOD
STUDIOS AND TELEVISION PRODUCERS ONLY HIRE LEFT-WINGERS. Check the
Billboard Hot 100. Any Republican hip-hoppers on there? The box office
Top Ten. Any flicks by right-wing directors, producers, or stars? How
about network sitcoms? Standup comics? Broadway shows? Lefties,
lefties,
lefties. The reality is, that but for a few country artists, THE
FAR-LEFT
POWER BROKERS IN THE MOTION PICTURE, MUSIC, TELEVISION AND THEATER
INDUSTRIES HIRE FAR-LEFT ENTERTAINERS AND ONLY FAR-LEFT ENTERTAINERS.
That's a fascinating conclusion. Don't you think, though, that the
"power brokers" are more simply motivated? I imagine their discussions
of who to hire and promote has everything to do with who will make them
money and not what someones political paradigm might be. Then, again,
this concept might be too difficult for me since I have trouble seeing
conspiracies around every corner.
There are very very few "artists," performing, creative, or otherwise, on
the "right hand side" of the political spectrum. The very nature of
"conservatism" is the antithesis of artistic creativity.
Tell that to Mel Gibson. Seriously, my gut feeling is that there are
certainly more outspoken liberals in the arts than conservatives, but I have
know way of knowing what the true percentage breakdown might be.
Anecdotally, two of the most right wing families I know have just sent
their oldest kids (with right wing views) off to art schools.
Still, I don't see a Hollywood conspiracy to do anything other than promote
the product and the artist that most Americans want to pay money to see. I
doubt very strongly that on the population scale there is any discussion of
who to hire and which screen play to turn into a movie based on politics.
