Not with a model 1894 Winchester, probably chambered for
.44-40 black powder, which wouldn't still be in the air at
600 meters unless he aimed the gun 20 degrees above the
horizon.

He just squinted his jaw and pointed his eyes and squoze off
a shot. T'cha... everyone knows that.

Heck, his kid could pick off a bad-guy at 200 yards with a
spit wad.
