The device was a hoax and that was their point. Electrolysing hydrogen
to burn in a car is a lot less efficiernt than simply making an
electric car. If you can make enough hydrogen at home to fulfil your
transportation needs you can probably just use a golf cart.

True hydrogen cars, which I believe is the wave of the future, will not
burn hydrogen, but will use the hydrogen in a chemical fuel cell which will
generate electricity that will drive an electric motor.
