Been using it for some time.
I run it dry and find that the stuffing box is cool.
If you choose to switch from flax to GFO be sure to pull the shaft and
inspect for galling and other surface irregularities - most can be
'dressed' out by polishing with emery and crocus cloth.

Havent had any water in the bilge from the stuffing box since I
installed it. Good Stuff.

It looks like the best of the alternative packings to me both in
theory and handling it.
