All the time, on the way on our many day rides from the North shore of
Long Island up the Hudson River. (Traditionally, we used to launch for
those rides from Cold Spring Harbor, but recently my buddy has turned
me on to the ramp on the west shore of Hempstead Harbor, Bar Beach I
think it's called, that is worth the long extra drive in the car to get
to, because of how much closer it is to the Hudson and back and the end
of the day....in the late-afternoon chop that's usually the L.I. Sound
at the end of the riding day, it's nice to be coming under the Throg's
Neck, look at my handlebar-mounted gps and see there's only 6 miles
back to the launch spot instead of the 20 I used to see at that point.)

Another early season ride we've already done was from Orient Point to
the Connecticut River and up that for maybe 40 miles and back....so it's
been a great start, we've already covered lots of ground and a bunch of
different places just in this "pre-season" part of the year.

Now I'm planning a second annual trip with my wife to go riding in the
Thousand Islands (St. Lawrence river) this summer, had said I couldn't
afford it this year but I'm finding if I just cut it shorter by a
couple days and stay in much cheaper Clayton rather than the
much-fancier Riverview hotel/marina in Alex. Bay that we stayed at for
a week last year....I can swing it.

Forgot that you have the SeaDoo....I was thinking a small dinghy with an
outboard.
Just don't be terrorizing the Gananoque, Ontario area August 04-06.
That's when the Sandpiper 565 Rendezvous takes place.

No, I don't have a SeaDoo. And I promise I've never terrorized
anyone!

Mostly took pictures of lighthouses, swam, toured castles, beached
and picnicked on the various state parks in the area, and just cruised
around and enjoyed the scenery and the company of all our fellow
boaters and water-lovers, we covered from Tibbets Point to at least
Gitchiegoomie Bay (sp?) I think it was. What is that event that you
mention, is it sailboats? We'll be up there about two weeks after
that, sorry I guess we'll miss you this time. One difference, last
year I forgot my passport so we didn't try to dock or land in Canada,
this time I'll make sure to bring it.
