Hello

Some thefts rob masts and leave the boat abandoned. This is
outrageous.
There is a reward if you have some information. Check this video out:

I suspect with fuel prices high and still climbing, a lot of insured
boat owners will be hopeful.
Sounds a lot like "seller's remorse" self talk. Did you manage to find
a new owner for the "Yo-Ho"? If so, are you shopping for a replacement?

No remorse here, and no, I haven't sold Yo Ho but then, I haven't tried.
Gas consumption is pretty decent on her, considering: about 10 gallons
an hour at cruise speed of more than 25 mph, the "more" depending on
load.

The boat that I sold burned about 10 gph at 27mph cruise speed. The new
one burns 23gph at a cruise of 30mph. I've been finding myself using the
17' boat more and more if the seas are flat...even running out as far as
15-20 miles in it. But when those seas are up, I'm very happy to have the
extra 9,000 lbs, and 13 feet of length beneath me.

Let's see...23 gallons an hour, at $3.50 a gallon, about $80 an hour for
gasoline. What happens when you drop your cruise speed by five mph?

I get 1.1 mph instead of 1.3 mph. 30 mph is the "sweet spot".

I rarely ever run Yo Ho at RPMs that raise fuel burn above 10.5 gph. The
boat moves nicely at that engine speed, it's quiet, it's easy on the
engine, and we're still moving at a good clip. Besides, most days on the
Bay, the short chop is annoying enough that I don't like to run any
faster. I far prefer ocean wave "roll" to the damned hard chop around
here.

I run at 4000 RPM for a 28.5-30mph cruise (depending upon load).
