Fine entry
It generally means that the hull form has a narrow form forward as opposed
to a symetrical widening and narrowing of the hull which positions max beam
midships. In a form having a fine entry, max beam is aft of midship.

What is meant when a sailboat is said to have a " fine entry" into the
water?
