I understand that, which sort of makes it the dealers fault for
setting up the GPS that way, and I think we both know why. However in
the interest of journalistic accuracy, I'd suggest reporting both
numbers, similar to 23 MPH (20 KTS). Agreed that is is stylisticly a
bit clunky but at least it shows that you know better. The conversion
is easily done on a pocket calculator.

mph / 1.15 = kts

kts x 1.15 = mph

Otherwise you become an accomplice in the game and help to perpetuate
the mph BS.
