Default Fishing Kayak fish finder reviews

Hope this is not the incorrect forum to bring this up......

I'm the happy owner of a Wilderness Systems Pungo 140, really love it.
I'd like to buy a fish finder ( a mountable one, not one of those hand
held or wrist watch models), in the $100.00 - $150.00 range.

Any reviews, feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, I'm familiar with the Kayak Fishing Stuff website and forums, I'm
looking farther afield here.

Thanks very much,

MB

Hey MB, I don't know if this would fit the bill or not but a while back
Radioshack was selling the NorCross portable fish finder:
Norcross Fishfinder
Fish and depth readings from 2.5 to 50 feet
SKU: 6301162
$49.99

I use it in my Crawdad boat on lakes and even have used it in the
Chesapeake bay. It is actually pretty good, the only time it has
trouble is on choppy water since it relies on a float for the
transducer.

It is nice and portable and the float system allows you to send it out
away from your boat, however it has a "through the ice" mode that
allows it to go through Ice or thin boat hulls (like a Crawdad/kayak).
I got mine on clearance for $29.99 and while they may not be available
at RS anymore they are fairly easily found.
