Why Canada's Baseball Team is So Good
Next thing ya know, they'll want to ban boiling lobsters.

Actually I have. I've watched the process at three
separate slaughter
houses, and yes it ain't pretty. But it's hardly
clubbing the animals,
skinning them while still alive, and allowing them to
die in agony. What
is even more disgusting is that the infant harp seals
have no reason to
mistrust the hunters, so they eagerly approach them.
After the pups are
clubbed and skinned, they bay pitifully for up to an
hour as they slowly
bleed out. The mothers typically hover over their dying
pups, trying in
vain to comfort them. It's cruel and inhumane.
Although I am against any commercial harvesting
endeavours... including
commercial fishing... your arguement seems based on second
hand information
selectively quoted from animal rights groups. The clubbing
of "white coats"
ended in 1987. If fish were cute and cuddly... would you
protest the
indiscriminate slaughter of entire schools numbering in
the tens of
thousands... subjecting them to massive decompression and
slow axphyxiation
or live skinning and gutting?
You have obviously never been to a slaughter house since
to the best of my
knowledge they do not provide "tours" nor allow the public
access to the
area. Next thing you'll be telling me they gave you a tour
of a Chicken Farm
producing eggs..... see if you can even get access to the
building. My
roomate was working at a slaughterhouse in Edmonton as
supervisor. I
actually saw what the operations were. In my opinion your
comments are at
best naieve and obtained second hand.
Max... you have never viewed a harp seal harvest.... nor
have you been in a
slaughter house... maybe you thought the packing plant was
where the did the
killing?
There is no major difference between a commercial
slaughter house and a seal
harvest or the indiscriminate netting by commercial
fishing Max.... large
scale commercial harvest of any animal is prone to adhere
to the bottom
line... expediency, efficency, profit!
So lay off the skinned pups baying woefully on an ice flow
in minus 35c for
hours as their mothers attempted to comfort them ****! Try
logic for a spell
instaed of your emotionally based second hand propoganda
that you have never
actually witnessed. Think Flash Freeze.... Seriously...
engage your brain
before your mouth.
Now I'll repeat this since you "Save the Seals" people are
subject to
selective hearing problems.... If you want to stop
sounding like an
Hysterical 18 year old PETA activist... try some common
sense in your
arguments next time.
Ban the Seal Harvest.... Ban Large Scale Commercial
Farming.... Ban All
Whaling of any species.... and All Commercial Fishing in
North American
Waters... but most important... Ban Whiney Ill-Informed
Suburban Dwelling
Green Activists who depend on all of the above. That's
what I'm in favour
of.
Let the small family owned inshore fishermen ply their
trade in peace but
take out the mega corps raping the ocean. Let the small
scale farmer provide
for the packing plants.
Seals... "cute"... Bwahahahahahahaa... you've never been
near a seal Max.
[Okay maybe at the zoo]. I've killed several and eaten the
flesh raw.
BTW- This year the ice conditions will contribute to the
drowning deaths of
more white coats than the last 5 year quota combined.

You're making a really, really bad comparison between
institutionalised, factory slaughter and clubbing cute
little seals to
death.
S'cuse me? I didn't make that comparison--Martin B.
did.
Both are abhorrent.
Perhaps, but the differences are profound. Perhaps you
should view a harp
seal harvest before making such ridiculous claims.
