1980 Cascade 29
OK, thanks for the info....
I wouldn't plan to tackle a trip of that magnitude anytime soon....
Something to work up to for sure....
Are there any online coastal guides that would have details about sailing
the pacific coast of the US and central america, such that would recommend
good ports to target and/or avoid etc?

That little boat shows up all over the world. They build them here on the
river in Portland. Literally bullet proof hulls. A bit cramped down below
and not the fastest in class but they are reliable. Hans puts those
Yanmars in because they rarely fail too.The biggest drawback is the owner
finishing inside. They are often finished by the owner and few owners are
good cabinetmakers. The resale value often suffers because of this.
As far as your proposed trip South: The boat is up to it, are YOU?

Hello all, been thinking about buying a 1980 Cascade.. are there any
opinions about Cascades?
Also, does it seem like a ludicrous idea to sail from Juneau Alaska down
to the panama canal in a boat this size? 22hp Yanmar, 40 gal of water,
30 gal of fuel, 2400 hrs on the engine.....
Any input will be appreciated...
