Hell, we pay at least that here. The rule of thumb is that a prosperous
individual in the US pays half his income annually in taxes of all forms.
Those include state taxes in addition to federal taxes, but they are f***ing
taxes, nonetheless. And most of us will never see a fraction of that
returning to our pockets, thanks to the freeloaders who siphon it off for
themselves, their special interests, and corporate welfare.
