Old Harbor is next for destruction

A quote from a waterfront property owner in Beaufort, SC, always returns to
my head when I read these stories of denial-of-access to the public's
waterways. She said, "Noone wants one of those FLOATING TRAILER PARKS in
front of their waterfront.", or something like that, it's been a while.

It has nothing to do with boaters and boating. It has to do with
waterfront property values. You're blocking the realtors' view showing the
buyers. You gotta go....

I'd like to see a law that goes the other way. The only way you can have a
big long monster dock sticking out into the navigation channel to enhance
property values, is if you have a BOAT that needs to be tied up to it.
People without a need don't need to have a big dock sticking out that may
kill someone on the water.

Hilton Head Island, SC, already has an anti-boat-anchor ordinance enforced.
It'll just get worse, before the oil runs out and solves the problem.
