Any preference between the Tecumseh engine or the Briggs & Stratton?
Not that I ever expect to need a snow blower again...
tecumseh has a the same problem ficht had - they made some bum engines
at one time under a mass produce license with mtd - all small 3 hp
engines used on push mowers - which damn near killed the company.
however, they made a good engine - i have one of my ariens snow
blowers has a 12 hp tecumseh and its a strong engine - never a hiccup.
if i had my preference though, id go with b&s industrial series
engines like on the 15 hp, 36 inch blower i have. that engine is
indestructible.
You are absolutely correct. The larger Tecumseh engines are fabulous,
have steel cylinder sleeves, etc.
