Mr. C--did you ever take a close look at a Bristol Channel Cutter,
specifically the ones produced by Sam L. Morse Boat Company? Lyle Hess
design (a slightly shorter version of Lin and Larry Pardey's Taliesin),
built to go anywhere, and a great sailor for its 28' LOD. They don't come
up for sale often, but are worth the expense (also pricey) if you can find
one.
