Obviously the misunderstanding was on my part. Lot's of mental activity the
past couple of days and I am just not in shape for it anymore. :-)
Now, because of you guys and your photography skills, I have to go read the
manual for my camera. I've wanted to learn about photography since I was
young, so I may as well start now that I am old.

Take lots of pictures of the opposite wall while sitting there. Have a few
things around at different distances. Try a bunch of different settings.
Take notes.
