Many of them(the British) sold their land after independance because they
thought that their land would be confiscated. History shows that they sold
cheap.
To this day, the Irish have not tried to exact revenge.
One of the things I admire about the Irish people is that
very few of them seem bitter about the past... and that
seems to have been the case even before the current era of
prosperity.
