check out the wednesday pictures - the last ones with the shots of

Looks a lot like Jupiter Inlet in the winter. Scary.

I was just reading somewhere that the CG regards Jupiter as
unnavigable. I imagine that would probably come as news to many who
live around there.

Were you able to take your 50 through there in decent conditions?

I'm still trying to get up my nerve to take the GB out at Port St
Lucie.

I did, but it was pure luck. As you know, Jupiter Inlet is unmarked because
the bottom moves around so much. I approached the wrong way (from the
north), following the surface color and got lucky because it was high tide
and only running breaking 4-5 footers. Even still, my depth alarm kept
going off every time we dipped between crests. Plus, we were being buzzed
by the photo helicopter. I had no clue what that was all about until I got
the proofs in the mail 6 weeks later. Generally, Jupiter Inlet should be
approached from the south side, and, IMHO, should be avoided completely from
November to April. After that experience I would call the local Sea Tow
skipper before going out. He was always helpful in giving up to date advice
as to recent shoaling and recommended tracks.
