Man puts down $2000 for a slip with water and electricity.
Owner sold the property and new owner flipped the property.
Current owner doesn't honor access to water and electricity.

Boat owner keeps boat for 7 weeks at slip without water and
electrical (details unclear).
Boat owner wants $2000 refunded.

Judge says?

Let me see the contract.

Verbal.

No contract. Boat owner loses.

Lesson: Get everything in writing.

Judge ruled: $466.67 owed by boat owner. Original slip owner to refund
difference.
49 days of slip use ($2000/210 days x 49 days).

I can't believe I'm so bored that I'm watching People's Court (when did
Judge Wopner stop doing the show?).

Tell Judge Wopner he was wrong.

Wopner is gone. It's a lady judge now.

What I have learned is to get everything in writing. Sadly handshakes and
verbal agreements don't cut it anymore.

Business's have to be even more careful, with hold harmless agreements and
being asked to be named additional insured inserted in the contracts in many
cases.

It is a litigious society we now live in and you have to protect your own
interests.
