Default Pearson vs. Tartan

They are both decent boats but I think most people would put Tartan
ahead by at least half a length, and you get a lot more choices in my
opinion.

Pearson built a LOT more boats and models than Tartan AFAIK, so I don't
agree on choices. Some of Pearson's early boats were full keel designs
such as the Wanderer and were more capable of offshore travel than
designs that came later. Towards the end, Pearson was more at war with
Hunter and Catalina than Tartan and the family cruiser approach was
more evident.
