A flushed toilet is also clean.

It's before the flush that's a worry.

LIS is not a continuous flush. The fecal matter just oscillates back and
forth with the tides.

I worked for the Great Gull Island Project for a long time, Joe. Do
some homework. The LIS waters, flushed to open water daily are among
the cleanest in the country. It's the beach areas of the USA that are
ruined, and here the Sound also has sediment issues...but we don't swim
on US beaches, on the Sound or anywhere else.
