OK, you bought your dream boat with that lottery jackpot you
won.
Let's
assume you purchased a brand spanking new Nordhavn 57
http://www.nordhavn.com/57/overview.php4 .
I wouldn't be caught dead in a Nordhaven 57
Fine, then equip whatever boat you want.
Kewl!!!
Ok, first I'd start with Raymarine E-system - the whole
shooting
match
including the bow thruster interface for positioning purposes.
Raymarine vs. Furuno radar/plotter?
Raymarine.
Second, I'd install a Sea Tel system for communications
including
Internet/phone and whatever else I could stuff into it.
Third, a Sea Tel Satellite TV system with US/EU compatibility
and
the
HDTV application.
Fourth, whatever was in vogue for stereo equipment today along
with
flat screen LCD TVs for all the staterooms.
A complete set of fly-by-wire controls for engines, HVAC,
steering,
etc.
Last, and not least, A bevy of busty deck hands whose uniforms
consist
of string thong bikini's.
So when do you launch?
As soon as I win the lottery.
Psst....Tom........12, 15, 30, 46, 54.
And don't tell anybody.
Wouldn't you **** a brick if I played those numbers and won. :)
I would. Especially since there are only 5 numbers there.
That's all it takes in CT.
5 numbers for your lotto?
How big are the winnings for 5 numbers? Our 5-number lotto usually
wins you
"only" a couple hundred thousand. I couldn't even pay off my equity
line
for that.
Nice to know you are in freakin' debt up to your eyeballs.
ROTFL
Sorry NOYB, but I could not resist. You walked right into that one.
;-)
No offense taken. And like I told Tom: I passed my eyeballs long ago.
I understand. 8 years of college, medical equipment, office rent, staff
wages and liability insurance, besides your personal mortgage will do
that.
In the end, however, you may end up being the one laughing all the way to
the bank.
I plan to retire at age 60. If my house appreciates an average of just 5%
per year for the next 26 years, the house will be worth $4.8 million when I
retire. Assuming I never pay one penny towards principle, I'll still owe a
little over $900k on it...leaving me with nearly $4 million in equity at
retirement. I could sell it and use that $4 million in equity to move
elsewhere, downsize to a condo, or do a reverse mortgage on the place (most
likely scenario).
The boats, dental practice, cars, kid's school, etc. will already be paid
for. So really there's no downside.
In reality, though, waterfront property in Naples is likely to appreciate
more than 5% average per annum over the next 26 years, so the likely
scenario only gets rosier.
