There's now a company peddling the use of a ceramic coating as a
substitute for bottom paint. They claim that the bottom is so smooth
and slippery that merely moving through the water at a few knots will
dislodge any barnacles or sea grass. Hmmm....
Anybody else heard of this yet or know anything more about it?
What will they think of next?
I know of a company who uses ceramic microspheres and nanospheres
suspended in the paint at a high concentration, but I'm not aware of a
ceramic paint/coating.
I know a lot about that nano stuff. I read a novel where these little nano guys get
together killing people and trying to take over the world. They're mean buggers. They
didn't do anything for the swan overpopulation so I wasn't too impressed.
