Although what you say may be true, some of us are trying to change the tone of the rec.boats group.
We are trying to be more understanding of the traits of others and not 'pile on' when something

Karen, do you really think I'm kowtowing to him? Damn, he thinks I'm treating him like poop. I'm
trying hard to be other than smarmy, swarmy, snarky, unctuous, or pusilanimous. It's hard not being
at least *one* of them.

I've been trying to get Harold to agree to a New Year's resolution which would put an end to the
name-calling, piling-on, and all those behaviors listed above (which are most despicable, I
understand) although I'm not sure what some of them are.

He refuses to partake. I don't know why, other than it would reduce the number of his posts by about
97%.
