Bush Job Approval at 38%

After edging above 40%, it fades again

President Bush’s job approval rating languishes under 40%, despite an
upturn in the economy and a public relations onslaught defending the role
of the U.S. military in rebuilding Iraq, a new telephone poll by Zogby
International shows.

Zogby? The least accurate pollster in election '04...and the man who
erroneously called the '04 election for Kerry before the polls had even
closed.

Those working in the prime of their careers, and those in the age category
most populated by retirees, favored the President’s work, while others did
not.

People who work, and people who are retired favor Bush. That only leaves
the unemployed who oppose him. Figures.

Bush's job approval rating bounces up a few points
By Susan Page, USA TODAYTue Dec 13, 7:02 AM ET

President Bush's job approval rating, on a long slide since his re-election
last year, rebounded from historic lows in a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll taken
this weekend. (Related: Poll results)

In the survey, 42% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president,
5 percentage points higher than his record-low rating of 37% in
mid-November. The modest rise comes amid strong economic reports and the
approach of critical elections in Iraq this week. The poll of 1,003 adults
has a margin of error of +/-3 percentage points.
