It's too early to say with any certainty the situation in China, but I
have always been surprised at the violence in some Asian protests. IIRC,
several demonstrations in S. Korea and Japan, the use of fire bombs were
common. There was a protest over an airport, several years back, that
had
fire bombs used against the police almost daily.
