I hear it is heading for a red state.
No, no, no. I'ts heading for those godless commies in China.
But where will you go for authentic (even if spoiled) Chinese food?
San Francisco!
Dislexics of the world, untie!
Ah, yes. Chinese food in SF. A treat.
A great thing about SF, of course, is that the righties hate it.
I don't hate San Francisco - I mean they invented Rice-A-Roni.
Great place to visit. Nothing beats a Saturday or Sunday morning at
Pier
39.
We saw the Pacific fleet come in last time I was there. Quite a site
to
see.
I will never set foot in the state of California again - ever.
The first time was quite enough.
Freakin' earthquakes.
Later,
Tom
We have them so cows give milkshakes. And I can think of a lot of better
places to spend Sat or Sun morning than at Pier 39.
Yeah, really. It is a huge tourist trap.
SF has a lot to offer. For restaurants, I like the Dead Fish, Alfreds,
John's Grill (atmosphere), North Beach Restaurant, Masa's and a couple of
others. Alfreds is my top choice usually.
Dead Fish is 30 miles out of SF. St. Francis Grill in the Mission for
lunch. Favorite was Buco Giovanni's, but they have closed. I think
Giovanni passed on. We go to the North Beach once in a while, as my buddy
is good friends with Bruno the owner. Funny thing, Bruno is a very
conservative Republican, and Willy Brown and all the very liberal pols hang
out there. Bruno does have fun tho. Try the Friday buffet at the
California Culinary Academy on Polk. Fantastic spread, for a reasonable
price. About $35 person, and the wine is not marked up 3x. The Cliff House
for a sunset cocktail. The Buena Vista for Irish Coffee and for breakfast /
brunch.
