It's an ongoing struggle here. As one of Canada's 'have not' provinces,
Nova Scotia has a hard time affording our medical care...especially
when the Federal gov't under that smarmy %$^%& Brian Mulroney so
drastically reduced their share of the costs.
One of the first 'private clinics' was opened by the infamous Henry
Morgentaler to perform abortions.....even though 1500 a year were
already being performed quietly at a major hospital in the city.
So much for being private....he took the provincial govt to court to
force it to include his services under the medical act and therefore pay
his clinic for services.

Now we get situations where doctors buy an expensive piece of testing
equipment and advertise speedy service for a fee rather than wait months
for free tests.
