Well they screwed her up IMO.

As commanding officer ... I would inform Commodore Dan Murphy and
request a proper job the ship is due.

The forman that supervised the re-fits should stand in front of the
Captain's mast and explain why he did such a half ass job that is going
to ...in the long run...screw up more then it ever fixed.
