Kerry was the average GI Joe in Vietnam. He didn't want to be there, he did
everything he could to get out of there, something most of the young men in
America did. The problem is when he got home he attacked the soldiers and
their actions in a terrible war with no enemy that was easily identifiable.
There were many antiwar activist who attacked the policy of Viet Nam without
attacking the soldiers.

His strategy of suddenly trying to become a war hero did not fool anyone.

Suddenly?
