I have several buddies who use a motorcycle battery or gel cel in
a small Pelican case to power a fishfinder and GPS. They don't
pull much power (1/2 amp?)

Also, even if your motor is pull start, it may have a small alternator
for running electronics.

I run an old Eagle Ultra from 2 6v lantern batteries when I go canoeing.
They last at least several days. (never had them quit)
