360 degree pictures can be taken with special cameras that advances (or
exposes...not sure of the internal workings) the film as the camera
rotates. I saw photos taken that way of H.S. group trips to D.C., where
some of the kids would appear on both ends of the group shot.......

This is an interesting Panoramic view, and have been used by MS Auto to
preview autos for awhile.
The problem with any wide angle lens is the distortion, so in my mind it
is
a great novelty but the distortion ruins some great views.
I am very curious as to how they take the 360 degree pictures. If anyone
knows I would like to hear the details.

This is a great site, 3D photos of lots of cool places, you can pan in
the picture with your mouse, and zoom using the + and - in the lower
left corner.
