Harry,

If you're heading north on 75/275 to Tarpon Springs, there are a
couple of spots in St. Pete that might be of interest. The Salvador
Dali Museum is on the waterfront just south of downtown St. Pete and
is worth a look if you like his stuff.

The Pointer Institute, that you might have some interest in, is right
across the street from the Dali.

A very nice state park, Ft Desoto, is also worth a look. If you are
looking for some long stretches of very nice beach, go to the north
end, I think it's called North Beach. It's right on the mouth of
Tampa Bay. I'm fairly sure North Beach is usually included in the
worlds top beach spots. It's only crowded on big holidays.

Also, for seafood, just around the corner from the Dali/Poynter group
is a local seafood grill, Fishtails. It's right on the major local
boatyard accesses "Salt Creek". There are six boat yards along this
"creek". I do 80% of my haul-outs along this run. Anyway, Fishtails
has great seafood, I recommend the tuna skillet, rare. It's only $10
for a full dinner, and it's one of the few places that gives me any
competition when it comes to grilling seafood, my specialty.

A positive to all of these stops is they are all right off the
interstate. If you hit Fishtails, let me know and I'll join you for a
skillet.
