1990 Four Winns 170 advice
(jmw1234) wrote in message om...
I'm going to look at 1990 Four Winns 170 with the 3.0 I would
appreciate any thoughts on this boat, or things to look out for in
this make/model/year.
The dealer is asking $4950 and NADA is listed around $3500 (nada even
sounds a little low...can you really get these boats for that cheap?),
so I would also appreciate any thoughts on what this boat may acutally
be worth.
I have not seen it in person yet, but the pics indicate a well taken
care of boat.

Jason,
Our first boat was a 1989 Four Winns 170 Freedom open bow. Ours only
had a 2.5L engine, which was a little underpowered, but all we did at
that time was tube, no skiing or large numbers of passengers, so power
wasn't an issue.
The boat itself was very well made and we NEVER had a problem. There
were a couple times when I had questions, and contacted Four Winns
directly. I can honestly say the company was amazing. Excellent
communication and service, even though we weren't the original buyer.
We now have a flying bridge boat, but if FW made such a style today, I
wouldn't hesitate to buy one. Their current product seems to exhibit
very good quality.
Regards,
Coff
