30 feet sounds like a lot to me. I troll with wire line and use about
10 feet of heavy mono for a leader, but I'm no expert. Some days I
catch fish and some days I don't.
I have one wire rig, but I don't use it much unless I'm in and around
rocks and rocky bottom contours.
Inshore I do a lot of drifting rather than trolling - my personal
opinion is that the bait has a more natural presentation that way.
Don't really need wire for that.
