Add it up, Doug!
If you own a C&C 35s5... then you own a dock condo Bob.
Fast?? ...don't make me laugh.. it hurts my aching shoulder. You don't
race
Bob... why would fast matter?
Fast = fun. It also means pointing upwind higher than your boat and
better VMG on every tack. Let me put it another way...
Pearson 30 PHRF ..........174
C&C 32 PHRF ................160
First 35s5 PHRF .............126 (bye bye!)
Nordic 30 PHRF..............180 !!!!!!
My new boat blasts your sea snail out of the water. You've got a slow
boat to China there, bub. She's a sea anchor who dreams she's a
sailboat. She has more wetted surface than a Blue whale and weighs
almost as much. She has barely enough sail area to catch flys, let
alone a breeze. The Nordic 30 is pretentious driftwood, a scab of
plastic masquerading as a real sea boat. For her, upwind is a direction
you can point to, but never sail to. And weather helm? Don't get me
started! I read the reviews. Keep the motor running unless you enjoyed
the movie "Sideways" enough to follow suite. Slow, plodding and dull is
the Nordic 30...perfect for the aged sailor with a compromised pair of
knees. I "like" the Nordic 30, just as I like a Cape Dory 30. But I'm
always glad someone else bought one and lives with the compromises
instead of me.
