was very quick to pull out. I suppose you could make

I saw a cool deal on an old wooden boat one time...There was
a bronze plate on the deck under the tiller, maybe a foot
long, with 'teeth' sticking up. Then there was a small
bronze flange on the tiller that would slot into any of the
notches.
Yeah, I think you told me about that. On the Mac, I used to put a
boat cushion on top of the lazerrette and under the tiller,
weight down the tiller with a small bucket of water. Worked real
well.
