Default More on the 35s5

Robert & Suzanne, we have the deep fin and I think we generally have
a bit more pointing ability than the wing version, though probably
around 3-4 degrees. Slightly off the wind the wing is certainly faster.
Oddly sailing side by side in heavy chop, the wing seems to point as
well or even better at times. We race against a wing version often and
I've skippered both. We regret the deep fin when we cruise of course.
If we could choose again we'd go with the wing. The 35s5 is pretty
bullet poof and few problems have been reported. Some of the nicest
sails I've had were short evenings under just the main when my wife
worked late. She sails like a speedy dinghy when it suits you. As a
cruiser she's simply fantastic, though we modified to the cockpit
locker for more storage. The new First series boats can't touch the
quality of the 35s5, but I recently sailed a 38s5 that was even nicer.
The 35s5 is nearly faultless except that they still aren't cheap.
