Wednesday October 26, 2005--Forty-one percent (41%) of American
adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as
President. This is the lowest level recorded ever recorded by
Rasmussen Reports.

Among Republicans, the President's Approval Rating has fallen to
73%, matching the lowest level ever recorded.

For most of his time in office, the President's Approval Rating
among Republicans has been in the high-80s.

Overall, 59% of Americans Disapprove, including 44% who strongly
disapprove. That is the highest percentage to Strongly Disapprove of
his job performance.

Fifty-three percent (53%) of Americans now say that bringing the
troops home from Iraq is more important than finishing the mission
in that country. This is the first time that a majority of Americans
have held that view.

Just 33% give the President good or excellent ratings for his
handling of the situation in Iraq. Thirty-nine percent (39%) say the
U.S. and its allies are winning the War on Terrorism.

During 2004, reports on the President Job Approval were based upon
surveys of Likely Voters. Typically, a survey of Likely Voters would
report a Job Approval rating 2-3 points higher than a survey of all
adults.

On Election Day, the President's Job Approval was at 52%. During all
of 2004, the President's Job Approval ranged from a high of 57% in
early January to a low of 43% on August 17.

This is hilarious for any number of reasons.
Rasmussen is my least favorite poll, and has been for a long time,
because of its non-human methodology. But since NOYB told us last
week that Bush was on the rise in the Rasmussen poll...

That's the difference between you and me. I'll stick with Rasmussen's
numbers as being the most accurate of all of the pollsters...even if
I don't like them.

There is no doubt that the moveon.org campaign to send a constant
barrage of negative spin against the Republicans to the press has
been working. But when the Cheney/Plame and Tom Delay witchhunts are
over, and everybody has been exhonerated, Bush's numbers will
rebound.


A. Bush's current numbers are based upon his dismal performance.

His numbers have nothing to do with "performance". His numbers have to
do with the media's infatuation with Plamegate, Tom Delay, and any
reports of violence out of Iraq.

If the numbers were based upon his performance, the numbers would be
quite high...reflecting low unemployment, no domestic terrorist attacks
in over 4 years, and a booming housing market.

Not being a manager of any stature, it may come as a surprise to you
that people may be reacting to his inability to handle his underlings,
and keep them from turning government into an embarrassment.

If one of the ongoing witchhunts ever results in a conviction, then come
talk to me.

Those don't matter. The damage is already done, just as it was with
Clinton. Your president cannot manage his staff. If Rove has to be made to
vanish, things will get even worse, since he is what guides Bush.

Cheney would step aside before Rove would ever leave.
