The J30 is the only thirty footer that I know of
with a 2 cyl inboard diesel that uses a 3/4" prop shaft insted of a 1"
shaft to save a few bucks. So much whip in that thing you think your
on the African Queen.



Hmmm, my friend's Yanmar has been ultra reliable and never had an
issue. Then again, he actually uses the sails to move it. Thanks for
tipping your hand. I'm sure you're the type to motor out to where
there's wind, motor over to where there's more and motor back rather
than sail. It doesn't surprise me that you're interested in shaft
diameter!
